Abstract
This paper investigates the tuning of first-order, second-order compensators and various advanced controllers for autonomous heart rate control. It employs a hybrid tuning approach combining zero/pole cancellation, specific performance measures, and optimization techniques using ITAE performance index. The results are compared with a fuzzy PID controller to identify the best method for heart rate control.
