Abstract
This paper discusses the challenges of enhancing query performance in cloud-based databases amidst changing workloads, network delays, and competition for resources. The study explores traditional and modern optimization techniques such as indexing, caching, query rewriting, and machine learning for adaptive and workload-aware execution. It delves into distributed query execution profiles, multi-cloud strategies, and serverless architectures to eliminate bottlenecks and improve cloud database performance.
