Abstract

This paper presents a review of the present work aimed to quantify the advantages of the location and sizing of distributed generation frameworks. In order to supply the growth of current and future electricity demand, attention is directed to distributed generation (DG). Distributed generation has become a complementary energy source for centralized generation, gaining significant prominence in distribution systems. In addition, large plants involve high costs, substantial greenhouse gas emissions, and difficulties in obtaining environmental permits. These factors have driven the adoption of DG with renewable resources (wind, solar, and water).
