Enhanced Protection on 2D Barcode Using Image?s Embedding PiCode Approach- Karthikeyan, Abirami.J
Abstract
2D barcodes have been widely used as an interface to connect potential customers and advertisement contents. However, the appearance of a conventional 2D barcode pattern is often too obtrusive for integrating into an aesthetically designed advertisement. Besides, no human readable information is provided before the barcode is successfully decoded. This paper proposes a new picture-embedding 2D barcode, called Code, which mitigates these two limitations by equipping a scan able 2D barcode with a picturesque appearance. A barcode (also bar code) is an optical, machine-readable, representation of data; the data usually describes something about the object that carries the barcode. Traditional barcodes systematically represent data by varying the widths and spacing of parallel lines, and may be referred to as linear or one-dimensional (1D). Later, two-dimensional (2D) variants were developed, using rectangles, dots, hexagons and other geometric patterns, called matrix codes or 2D barcodes, although they do not use bars as such. Initially, barcodes were only scanned by special optical scanners called barcode readers. Later application software became available for devices that could read images, such as smart phones with cameras. Code is designed with careful considerations on both the perceptual quality of the embedded image and the decoding robustness of the encoded message. Comparisons with existing beautified 2D barcodes show that Code achieves one of the best perceptual quality for the embedded image, and maintains a better trade-off between image quality and decoding robustness in various application conditions. It?s practicality for real-world applications have been successfully demonstrated. Improve the Hazop Techniques to Prevent the Accidents Caused by Pressure Vessels- T. Sri Ananda Atreya, Dr.E.Palaniswamy
Abstract
Pressure vessels are commonly used in industries and healthcare to store both liquid and gases under required pressure and temperature limit. This pressure and temperature comes from an external source or by the expansion of the product that is stored or by the application of heat from a direct or indirect source or any combination of them. The differential pressure and temperature is dangerous, and fatal accidents have occurred in the history of pressure vessel maintenance and operation. The bursting of pressure vessel results in loss of lives and property. Consequently, pressure vessel design, manufacturing, and operations are regulated by various engineering authorities backed by legislation. This paper mainly focuses on the reasons behind pressure vessel failure, and accidents that create hazards such as poisoning, asphyxiation, fires, and explosion. So, preventive measures are to be taken during different stages of design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, operation, and decommissioning of the pressure vessels in order to avoid accidents and improve the hazard awareness techniques to prevent accidents.. PCC Voltage Compensation Of PV Inverter With Active Power Decoupling Circuit- C.Rajeswari, G.Syed Zabiyullah, M.Amirtharini, R.Gunasekaran
Abstract
The objective of propose a novel PV micro-inverter with PV current decoupling (PVCD) strategy to achieve maximum power point tracking (MPPT) performance without using large electrolytic capacitors. Conventionally, the grid-connected PV micro-inverter needs a large PV-side electrolytic capacitor to suppress the double-line frequency voltage ripple, which is caused by the injected AC grid power, to achieve the desired MPPT performance. However, the short lifetime electrolytic capacitor will reduce the PV micro-inverter?s reliability dramatically. Therefore, different active power decoupling circuits (APDCs) have been proposed in published to reduce the required input capacitance so that the long lifetime film capacitor can be used to replace the electrolytic capacitor, which is based on the concept of current decoupling instead of power decoupling, is proposed to simplify the control mechanism of the PV micro-inverter. Furthermore, to accomplish the proposed current decoupling concept, a novel circuit topology for the PV micro-inverter is also proposed control strategy is modeled and simulated in MATLAB and simulation platform. Abstract
Every learning process requires an evaluation in the form of an exam. Based on the type of exam, it can be done in three forms, namely multiple choice exam, short fill examination and essay examination. Tests in the form of multiple choice and short exam are types of tests that are often used especially in e-learning exam, but the two types of tests have weaknesses especially for certain materials when compared to the test in the form of essays. Exams with an essay system can train to convey information verbally. The essay exam also requires a better understanding of a science and can be used to measure the level of understanding of human knowledge more depth. In the e-learning process the types of tests that widely used are multiple choice exam and short exam. The reason is the ease in the assessment process. Computer devices that are an important component in the e-learning process are easier to accurately assess in multiple choice test and short exam compared with assessing essay exams. Secure Sensitiven Data Sharing Big-Data In Cloud Platform Using Advanced Security System- M Aarthi, Pradeep T 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V5I3P11
Abstract
Cloud data canter management is a key problem due to the numerous and heterogeneous strategies that can be applied, ranging from the VM placement to the federation with other clouds. Performance evaluation of Cloud Computing infrastructures is required to predict and quantify the cost-benefit of a strategy portfolio and the corresponding Quality of Service (QoS) experienced by users. Such analyses are not feasible by simulation or on-the-field experimentation, due to the great number of parameters that have to be investigated. In this, we present an analytical model, based on Stochastic Reward Nets (SRNs), that is both scalable to model systems composed of thousands of resources and flexible to represent different policies and cloud-specific strategies. Several performance metrics are defined and evaluated to analyze the behavior of a Cloud data center: utilization, availability, waiting time, and responsiveness. A resiliency analysis is also provided to take into account load bursts. Finally, approach is presented that, starting from the concept of system capacity, can help system managers to opportunely set the data center parameters under different working conditions. Review On The Drafting Process And Comparison Of Millennium Development Goals (MDGS) And Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS)- Edward Hingha Foday Junior, Kejan Kokofele 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V5I3P12
Abstract
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) differ from the MDGs in purpose, concept, and politics. This article focuses process and comparison of the predecessor to the SDGs. The identification of Millennium Development Goals and the follow-on Sustainable Development Goals are referred here as examples of such policy-forming activities. The Millennium Declaration was adopted on 8th September 2000. According to David Hulme, the drafting process attempted to please both the rich countries insisting on their Development Assistance Committee (DAC) prepared list of International Development Goals and everybody else. It argues that the SDGs address several of the key shortcomings of the MDGs and incorporate a broader and more transformative agenda that more adequately reflects the complex challenges of the 21st century, and the need for structural reforms in the global economy. The SDGs also reverse the MDG approach to global goal setting and the misplaced belief in the virtues of simplicity, concreteness, and quantification. While the SDGs promise the potential for a more transformative agenda, implementation will depend on continued advocacy on each of the targets to hold authorities to account. The future of global public participation may move beyond invitation (and its deficiencies), to one based on collecting passive information of the global public. It still remains to be seen whether SDGs really demonstrates the long-term public concerns especially with the set of global priorities until 2030. Since one threshold or structure threshold certainly fails to resolve doubt , in this paper, we have proposed a brand new technique that automatically observe the edge to exactly discriminate pixels as foreground or background using automatic threshold mechanism. By ?rst distinguishing boundary, its associated curvatures, and edge response, used as benchmark to gauge the possible location of the boundary. Results show that the projected technique systematically performs well in various illumination conditions, as well as indoor, outdoor, moderate, sunny, and rainy cases. By an examination with an empirical evidence in every case, the error rate, the shadow detector index and the color model index indicates a correct detection, that shows substantial improvement as compared with alternative existing ways.. Risk Assessment and Hazard Evaluation for Paper Industries- Deepa Arun.N, E.Palanisamy 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V5I3P14
Abstract
The paper industry has an important social role to play for the country. Use of paper is considered as an index of cultural growth. The paper industry is also contributing towards fulfillment of various requirements of the industry as a whole like information dissemination, publicity, etc. Pulp and paper manufacturing can be very hazardous due to massive weight and falling, rolling, and sliding pulpwood loads. Workers may be struck or crushed by loads or suffer lacerations from the misuse of equipment, particularly when machines are used improperly or without proper safeguards. Hazardous chemicals used in pulp and paper mills require careful handling and continuous monitoring to minimize threat to workers, processes, and nearby communities. The production and use of paper has a number of adverse effects on the environment like deforestation, air pollution(NO2,SO2,CO2 emissions), waste water discharge (contains solids, lignin, alcohols, transition metal compounds, nitrogen and phosphorus, etc.), landfills. This project helps to identify various safety and health hazards in the pulp making process and recommend the new suited methods to improve the workplace safety and health in paper industry. Study of Effect of Cryogenic Treatments on Powder Metallurgy Tool Steels- D.M. Dalwe, R.G.Tated 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V5I3P15
Abstract
There are various methods used to enhance the properties of materials and commonly adopted are conventional heat treatment, coatings of harder materials on the surface of base materials, in addition to conventional heat treatment cryogenic treatment is also used. A lot of research work has been carried out on conventionally produced steels and effect of cryogenic treatments on it. But powder metallurgically (PM) produced steel materials are not focused that much. The study on the effect of cryogenic treatments on PM steels needs to be evaluated more. In the cryogenic treatment materials are subjected to temperature below 0?C and range up to -196?C or in some cases -269?C. The sub-zero treatment and various cryogenic treatments like shallow cryogenic treatment (SCT), deep cryogenic treatment (DCT) are used by researchers to know the effects on tool steels and other steel materials also. It is seen that cryogenic treatment improves the mechanical and tribological properties of most of steels as a result of reduced retained austenite which is converted into martniste content which improves the performance of materials. Abstract
Loss of consciousness and fall-induced injury is one of the leading problems faced by the elderly. They are the leading cause for the transfer of senior citizens from the comfort of their residence to assisted care environments. They also account for number of injury related deaths. On the personal side, such events stifle the independence of the individuals, requiring a caretaker to maintain constant surveillance. It is better to design a system to sense and alert doctors and nearest of kin of falls and other related incidents of distress. The device must not be cumbersome, but rather wearable, so as to remove any social stigma related to the possession of such a device. Abstract
faceted scrutinizing is broadly utilized in Web shops and item examination destinations. In these cases, a fixed arranged rundown of aspects is frequently utilized. This methodology experiences two fundamental issues. Initial, one needs to contribute a lot of time to devise a viable rundown. Second, with a fixed rundown of aspects it can happen that a feature winds up futile if all items that match the inquiry are related to that specific aspect. In this work, we present a structure for dynamic feature requesting in web based business. In view of measures for particularity and scattering of feature esteems, the completely robotized calculation positions those properties and aspects on top that lead to a brisk drill-down for any conceivable target item. As opposed to existing arrangements, the structure tends to online business explicit viewpoints, for example, the likelihood of various snaps, the gathering of aspects by their comparing properties, and the wealth of numeric features. An Experimental development of Geo-grid Reinforced Soil under irregular load and development of load bearing capacity
- Mr.L.BHARATH KUMAR, Mr.D.APPANNA 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V5I3P28
Abstract
Several works have been done relating to the estimate of the ultimate bearing capacities of shallow foundations, supported by geogrid reinforced sand. Few experimental studies have been made on the evaluation of bearing capacity of shallow foundations on geogrid-reinforced sand under eccentric load. These studies relate to strip and a square foundation is yet to be done. The purpose of this thesis is to conduct few model tests in the laboratory by using square surface foundation over the reinforced sand bed. The model footing used for the model tests in the laboratory is of size 10cm x 10cm. The average relative density maintained during all the tests is 69%. The reinforcing material used in the experiment is SS 20 in 2, 3 and 4 number of layers. The load eccentricity is varied from 0 to 0.15B with an increment of 0.05B. The vertical distance of first geogrid layer from base, distance between the consecutive geogrid layers, and width of the geogrid has been kept constant. For each set up load intensity and corresponding settlements are observed which are plotted to get load-settlement curves for each set up. The load-settlement curve for each test is plotted to determine the ultimate bearing capacity. Parametric studies have been made to evaluate the influence of load eccentricity on bearing capacity of the foundation. The ultimate bearing capacity of eccentrically loaded square footings can be computed by knowing the ultimate bearing capacity of square footing under central load and a reduction factor (RkR) for reinforced condition. The reduction factor is developed based on the results of laboratory model tests on geogrid reinforced soil. Design and Implementation of Smart Real Time Bluetooth Controlled Signal Generator
- K.Parvateesam, K.L.V Prasad 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V5I3P29
Abstract
Waveform generators (also called function generators) are useful for testing and debugging circuits. In general we often use them to test the frequency response of electronics components like op amp and sensors. This waveform generator is powered by an Arduino with Bluetooth control unit. The system can be controlled by pairing any Bluetooth enabled device with this generator. With the help of Application software in the device we can change the type of wave form, amplitude and brightness also. It outputs four wave shapes: sine, triangle, pulse, and saw, each wave shape ranges in frequency from 1Hz-50kHz. The frequency, pulse width, and overall amplitude (gain) of the waveforms is controlled by three potentiometers. I've also included (optional) indicator LEDs that let you know which type of wave is currently being sent to the output. This type of low cost systems can be used in academic laboratories for the students to generate wave forms, observation and as input to some other system analysis. These low cost portable real time signal generators can replace the old traditional generators with high cost and maintenance. Abstract
To assure the safe supply of drinking water, the quality should be monitored in real time, for that purpose a modish IoT based water quality assurance has been proposed. In this project, we layout the design of IoT based water quality monitoring system which oversees the quality of water in real time. This system inheres few sensors which calibrates the water quality parameters such as pH, temperature, turbidity. The measured values from the sensors are processed by the microcontroller and are remotely routed to the client system using IoT protocols. Decisively the sensors data can be perceived on the client side in real time using cloud computing. The proposed project is also integrated with an android application to monitor the quality in real time using IoT.
