Abstract
The purpose of this project is to decrease the death rate due to accidents caused by drunk driving. This project also keeps the pollution level of the atmosphere by checking the vehicle smoke level using MQ2 sensor. We used MQ3 sensor for driver alcohol level detection and if the level of alcohol in permissible the ignition gets on otherwise the vehicle will not start. In this project, we have used ATMEGA328 microcontroller to process the inputs and outputs based on the conditions. An LCD display is used to display the status of the vehicle. GSM module is used to send messages for the family members if the person is drunk and the location of the person is obtained by using the GPS module. The Latitude and Longitude of the location are sent to family members by GSM. In this project, the engine is demonstrated by using the dc motor. Abstract
Recently the demand for automated technology is increasing by the passing hour. People try to find sources that not only make their work easier, but also errorless and fast. One such recent advancement in technology that aims to aid people in their day to day activities is the Autonomous robotic technology. Going by its mere definition autonomous robotics is a field in which the robots try obtain high amplitude of autonomy and accuracy. Autonomous robots, similar to the humans, have the ability to make their own decisions and later perform an action accordingly. Being precise, an autonomous robot is one that can perceive its environment, make decisions based on what it perceives or has been programmed to recognize and then actuate a movement or manipulate within that environment. In this paper, one such application of autonomous robotics has been presented. Automation in the field of agriculture is progressing by the day, with the younger generation trying to find the most convenient route for automated practices in agriculture. Similarly, the proposed paper deals with the development of an automated robotic car built extensively using the microcontroller and image sensor network that tracks the pest infestation in the crop fields. Upon detection of pests, through image processing, it alerts the farmers about the prevailing pest conditions in their field with the help of a simple message being displayed on their phones. They would then be hinted about the possible measures or pesticides that need to be used in order to counter this problem. One of the major advantages of this paper is the mobility of the car in rough terrains and real time testing conditions that give accurate results using image processing. The overall impact would be a pest free environment in the fields with a user friendly pest detection system. Abstract
The present paper critically analyses the gender and masculinity expression and interaction in Hemingway�s most popular novel, A Farewell to Arms. The researcher after going through many novels chosen the novel A Farewell to Arms as Hemingway wrote in detail about gender and masculinity and gender role in the novel. This is the first book of the author that made him popular in the society since it was based on the true story that replicates the World War I. This novel is otherwise termed as an antiwar novel. Considering the main aspect of the novel�s gender issues and stress of masculinity interaction induced the writing of this paper. Abstract
This paper deals with the study of design of a roll cage for an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) in accordance with the rulebook of BAJA given by SAE (Society of Automobile Engineers). A roll cage is a skeleton of an ATV as it forms the basic structure and gives stability to a vehicle. The roll cage not only forms the structural base but also a 3-D shell surrounding the occupant which protects the occupant in case of impact and roll over incidents. An all-terrain vehicle (ATV) as defined by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is a vehicle that travels on low pressure tires, with a seat that is straddled by the operator, along with handlebars for steering control. The design comprises of material selection, chassis and frame design according to the constraints given in the rule book, cross section determination, determining strength requirements of roll cage. Improved Transient Response for Three-Level DC-DC Buck Converter- M. I. Masud, S.A. Moiz, O Jamil 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V5I1P25
Abstract
Transient response of three level buck converter depends on the slew rate of filter inductance. The slew rate of filter inductor can be increased either by decreasing the inductance magnitude or by increasing the voltage across the inductor. Decreasing the inductance magnitude results in higher losses in the converter due to increase of inductor current ripples. In a three level buck converter, the voltage across the inductor during step up load transient is 0.5Vin-Vout, while during step down load transient is �Vout. For smaller duty cycle applications, three level buck converter offers slow step up and step down load transient response because of limited magnitude of voltage across the inductor. In this paper a new three level buck converter topology is proposed, which will increase the magnitude of voltage across the inductor during load transients and thus will improve the transient response. After load transient, the converter will recover to normal steady state condition and will behave just like a three level converter in steady state. Abstract
This paper presents the National Instruments LabVIEW based simulation of design Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) for Level control of Four Tank System. The Four Tank System is one of the type of MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) system. The objective of the paper is to give a brief on the working and controlling of a non-interacting four tank system which has been designed using LabVIEW and can be implemented in real time by interfacing with Hardware�s. The issues in a MIMO system is it will non-linear and it will affect the Stability of the system. It can be solved using various controllers and we are using PID controllers with different Control techniques. The MIMO System consists of four tanks, two pumps and control valves. The Simulation result shows the efficient output of the different control techniques used in this paper. Abstract
A gari rotary fryer with brush scrapping device designed using Computer Aided Design (CAD), and fabricated.The paddle shaft is driven by a synchronous electric motor of 3.75kw with 1460rpm. The turn out as being recorded from performance evaluation given at 3kg of cassava mash fried produced 2.7kg in 6minutes at an average temperature of 770C. After considering the mass before frying, mass of charcoal used for frying, moisture loss, mass of net gari fried, time for frying, moisture loss, mass of gari net gari fried, time for frying and rate of frying, the machine has an efficiency of 90%. Abstract
This study examines the use of Operations Research in retailing, both domestic and international, in various forms and methodologies. The retail industry is one of the fastest-growing and most promising. Customers in this industry have high expectations, and thus companies need to be able to meet those demands effectively in order to remain viable. The company must also keep costs under control while increasing income. Logistics, Supply Chain Management, and Warehousing are some of the most important parts of retailing, so we'll focus on them to show how Operations Research techniques like transportation, simulations and the analytical model can be used to reduce costs, thus increasing profits and overall efficiency. Logistics is the management of the flow of goods between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet some requirements, for example, of customers or corporations. The resources managed in logistics can include physical items, such as food, materials, animals, equipment, and liquids, as well as abstract items, such as time, information, particles, and energy. The logistics of physical items usually involves the integration of information flow, material handling, production, packaging, inventory, transportation, warehousing, and often security. The complexity of logistics can be modeled, analyzed, visualized, and optimized by dedicated simulation software. Abstract
A colloidal mixture of nano-sized particles in a base fluid, called nanofluids, tremendously enhances the heat transfer characteristics of the original fluid, and is ideally suited for practical applications due to its marvelous characteristics. Nanofluids are colloidal mixtures of nanometric metallic or ceramic particles in a base fluid, such as water, ethylene glycol or oil. Nanofluids possess immense potential to enhance the heat transfer character of the original fluid due to improved thermal transport properties. In this article, a brief overview has been presented to address the unique features of nanofluids, such as their preparation, heat transfer mechanisms, conduction and convection heat transfer enhancement, etc. The hot-wire apparatus is used to measure the thermal conductivity of nanofluids with suspended copper nanophase powders. Some factors such as the volume fraction, dimensions, shapes and properties of the nanoparticles are discussed. A theoretical model is proposed to describe heat transfer performance of the nanofluid flowing in a tube, with accounting for dispersion of solid particles.
