Abstract
Election of candidates who are expected to do well academically in institutions of higher learning requires a system of admissions based on reliable and legitimate admissions criteria. This study focuses on methods for helping colleges make admissions decisions by employing data mining techniques to predict applicants' academic success in higher education. The suggested technique was validated using data collected from 1,039 scholars enrolled in the Computer Science and Information College of a Saudi public institution between 2016 and 2019. The findings show that based on several pre-admission characteristics, candidates’ early university performance may be predicted before admission.
