In coal mines, poor ventilation exposes workers to toxic gases, heat, and smoke, which can lead to sickness, injury, and death. IoT based Coal mine safety monitoring and alerting system based on sensor network can timely and accurately reflect situation of staff in the underground regions to computer system. The air pollution from coal mines is mainly due to emissions of hazardous gases include sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon monoxide (CO) etc. To monitor the concentration level of harmful gases, gas sensors are used. To check the temperature in the coal mine Temperature sensor is used. A smoke detector is a device that senses smoke, typically as an indicator of fire. And the Fire sensor is used. This system also provides an early warning, which will be helpful to all miners present inside the mine to save their life before any accidents occurs. To address the issues, IoT based coal mine safety monitoring and alerting system based on a sensor network and the Internet of Things, which can increase the monitoring level is created.
