Suresh Babu , " EXPERIMENTAL AND THEORETICAL INVESTIGATION ON THE SHEAR BEHAVIOUR OF STEEL FIBRE REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS " Volume 7 - Issue 2 March - April,2021 International Journal of Engineering and Techniques (IJET) ,ISSN:2395-1303 , www.ijetjournal.org Abstract - The main objective of the paper is to investigate the influence of the steel fibre on the shear behaviour of reinforced concrete beams. The present study indicates that the combination of fibres with conventional concrete can change the failure mode from brittle to ductile manner. A total of six beams were tested with different volumetric fraction of steel fibre. The fibre content varied from 0% to 2.5%. The test result shows that the compressive strength and tensile strength were increased when the fibre content exceeded above 1%. The cracking shear strength is also increased as the fibre content increases and the ultimate shear strength is also achieved. The addition of steel fibres in the conventional concrete helps to resist the crack and enhance the ductility of the concrete. Reference 1. Ali A.
