- Sadhana Thiyagarajan, Soundharya Veerappan 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V4I2P121
Abstract
Cyclic Prefix Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (CP-OFDM) is used in 4G communication systems. There are problems in 4G Waveform such as out of band emission and lower spectral efficiency which forces to explore new waveforms for Fifth Generation (5G). Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier (UFMC) is one such air interface which is analysed in this work and compared with CP-OFDM highlighting the merits of the candidate modulation scheme for 5G communication systems. This work presents the comparison UFMC and CP-OFDM on the basis of Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) and Power Spectral Density (PSD) and analyse the performance of UFMC in Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel using MATLAB. It is found that 40 dB reduction in out-of-band emission is seen in UFMC when compared to CP-OFDM with negligible increase in PAPR. - Anshul Nema, Amit Ranjan 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V4I2P122
Abstract
Internet services such as social networks, e-banking, email, cloud services, blogs, all require some form of security like user authentication. Despite the availability of advanced authentication technologies such as smart cards, biometrics or USB tokens, passwords and PINs are still the most prevalent form of user authentication. Graphical passwords are a form of user authentication on which a lot of research has been undertaken over the past decade and a variety of alternative password schemes proposed. Proposed system develops image based and pattern based authentication method. It provides user to select image and grid pattern for making pattern password. It was found that brute-force attacks were largely ineffectual in terms of time required although image analysis had a profound impact on the effective password space. Password generated by this algorithm is more memorable than pass point mechanism. Proposed system is user friendly, effective, efficient, multifactor and multilayer authentication system. It keeps resistance against information leaks, brute force attack, phishing attacks, replay attack and man-in-the-middle attack. Abstract
Technology has almost started its journey in each and every field of our life, but still in some important areas such as food industry or food serving industries such as hotel, motels and restaurant. Even in the age of technology, the traditional pen paper method is followed by many restaurants for receiving the orders, which in turn wastes a huge amount of time of both, the restaurant and the customer. Various earlier efforts were done to bring the technology in the field of food serving industries. PDA KIOSK and Computer based techniques tried to improve the service with use of technology but faced some issues like wastage of customer time and efficiency of service. Each technique had its own advantages and a set of disadvantages. The proposed system tries to analyze the various existing systems and determine the drawbacks of each to overcome them in the proposed system. This system improves efficiency and accuracy for restaurants by saving time, eliminating human errors, getting customers feedback. As the system is automated, it becomes economical even from restaurants point of view, as it reduces manpower and it just requires one-time investment in installing the devices at tables along with this the prediction and data mining used in in the proposed system is useful for the management level for managing the resources. Effect of Exhaust Gas Recirculation on Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine Running With Corn Oil Biodiesel
-Mohd Riyazuddin, Srinivas Valmiki 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V4I2P125
Abstract
Transesterified fuels (biodiesel) from vegetable oils are alternative fuels for diesel engines. They are renewable and offer potential reduction in CO and HC emissions due to higher O2 contents in vegetable oil. Many research studies have reported that exhaust from biodiesel fuel has higher NOx emissions while HC and PM emissions are significantly lower than operated with diesel fuel. The aim of the present investigation is to reduce NOx emissions. Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is one of the most effective technique for reducing NOx emissions in compression ignition engines. An experimental investigation was conducted to study the effect of Exhaust Gas Recirculation on diesel engine Performance and Emission characteristics fueled with Corn Oil Methyl Ester and its blends with diesel. The EGR setup required for this work was developed on a single cylinder, direct injection, water cooled compression ignition engine. Corn Oil Methyl Ester produced by Transesterification process was used to operate the engine. The different EGR rates ranging from 0% to 10% in steps of 5% for Corn oil methyl ester blends with diesel fuel were consider for the study of various Performance and Emission characteristics. For all blends reduced NOx emission was observed with EGR. The better engine characteristics were obtained with EGR rate of 10% for all fuel blends. Abstract
In the recent year, energy crisis and environment degradation due to the increasing CO2 emission and ozone layer depletion has become the primarily concern to both developed and developing countries. Solar refrigeration using Peltier module does not need any kind of refrigerant and mechanical device like compressor, prime mover etc. for its operation. Our project utilizes the solar energy for its operation. Solar refrigeration using Peltier module is going to be one of the most cost effective, clean and environment friendly system. Cooling can be done in a single system which is possible due to the thermoelectric effect. The main purpose by this methodis to provide refrigeration system to the remote areas where power supply is not possible. Energy Efficient Schemes for Exploiting Dual Mobile Sinks in Wireless Sensor Networks
- A.Jenifer Ebinezer , P. Brundha 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V4I2P129
Abstract
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a collection of small sensor nodes in a geographically distributed region to keep track of physical or environmental conditions. If each node in the network transmits the sensed data to the Base Station (BS), the energy consumption is very high which directly affects the network lifetime. By using clustering techniques, network lifetime can be extended by making Cluster Head (CH) to interconnect with BS on behalf of other cluster members. Clustering is done and CHs are selected based on the Residual Energy (RE) parameter. A Dual Mobile Sink scheme is proposed where the sink nodes have more energy and resources compared to other sensor nodes. The sink nodes moves near the clusters and gathers the sensed data from the CH. Simulation results and analysis shows that there is an improvement in throughput, delay, packet delivery ratio with reduction in energy consumption compared to schemes that use static sink or BS, where all the CHs communicate the gathered data from the clusters members to the static sink node. Thus mobile sink scheme increases the network lifetime by reducing energy consumption. Keyword: Dual Mobile Sink, Residual Energy, Cluster Head, Network Lifetime.× A.Jenifer Ebinezer , P. - A.Blessy, Dr. D.C. Joy Winnie Wise 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V4I2P130
Abstract
Plant pathology is the scientific study of plant diseases caused by pathogens and environmental conditions. It includes pathogen identification, diseases cycles, economic impact, management of plant diseases, etc. In existing, to detect the diseases they used the spectroscopic techniques. These techniques are very expensive and can only be utilized by trained persons only. This project presents the detection of diseases which are detected using CNN (ConvolutionNeuralNetwork) technique. First the sample leaf image is given as input. Then, color channels are separated from the leaf image from these the green pixels are masked from the original image. The masking is done to avoid the processing of the green area of the leaves, since, it is healthy. By removing the green area from the original area the remaining infected area is calculated. Then the features are extracted from the affected area. Finally these features are given to the CNN to classify the disease. After finding the disease the solution for those diseases are send the corresponding user mobile using GSM device.
