- Mr.Vishwanath Patil ,Mr. Anandkumar S Malipatil 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V3I6P111
Abstract
The project deals with the numerical modeling of Heat transfer air flow in a Tube fin intercooler. The intercooler is air/air type and is used for the four stroke compression ignition engine with the total . The Solid works - CAD (Computer Aided Design) software is used for modeling of the 3D space geometrical model of the intercooler. The preprocessor Mesh generator is used for the creating of the needed computational mesh and the Flow simulation - CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software is then used for the simulation itself and the postprocessing. The Turbocharger inlet to the intercooler and the outlet to engine interface can be modified the concept here is to reduce the temperature of the air by obtaining maximum heat transfer For this we are optimizing the design of waved fin structure in the intercooler to Sine wave fins in both hot air domain and cold air domain By the simulation from the solid works flow simulation we can determine the pressure velocity and temperature distribution in the fluid volume and we can conclude the heat transfer. Abstract
Clean source of energy is the essential requirement of coming future to maintain a stable ecosystem on the earth, distressed by the global warming due to steep increase in the pollution. A step moving towards this urgent need is the Fuel Cell operating by the use of hydrogen and its continuous improvement in performance. In this paper an investigation was made on the performance of Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Fuel Cell with 25 cm2 Nafeon-117 membrane area, serpentine channels, with 0.8 mm deep by 1 mm wide every 0.9 mm. The performance was identified to be influenced by number of operating parameters such as temperature, humidification of gas streams; anode hydrogen flow rate and cathode oxygen flow rate. The PEM fuel cell under consideration was given the highest voltage at 75 0C temperature of fuel cell, 75 0C temperature of anode humidification, 50 x 10-6 m3 min-1 of anode flow rate. The maximum open circuit voltage was obtained at cathode flow rate of 150 x 10-6 m3 min-1. Also, the current density and voltage characteristics were observed and experimental data obtained was validated by using co-relation given by Khazaee. - K.Manimekalai, R.Rajasekaran 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V3I6P113
Abstract
Potassium dihydrogen phosphate is a material rich in NLO property with wide range of industrial applications. Certain dicarboxylic acids are also rich in NLO properties so they are used as dopants. In the present work Succinic acid is added in the ratio 1:1 molar percentage to KDP. Single crystals were grown by slow evaporation method. The grown crystals were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, Single crystal X-Ray diffraction, UV–vis. -spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).SHG efficiency, Dielectric studies and micro hardness studies. The single crystal X-ray diffraction studies reveal the structure and space group of the crystal. The powder X-ray diffraction study shows that the crystalline perfection of grown crystal is good. Fourier transform infrared studies confirm the functional groups of the crystals. It is seen from UV–vis studies that the optical transparency is found to increase much by adding chlorides. SHG efficiency of KDP is found to be slightly increasing with doping of Succinic acid. Dielectric studies show the conductivity and electrical behaviour of the crystal. Micro hardness studies show the mechanical stability of the crystal. - V.Swetha , P.Eswar Kumar 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V3I6P114
Abstract
Polymer electrolyte system based on polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) complexed with NaIO4 has been prepared using solution cast technique. DC conductivity of the films were measured in the temperature range 303–398 K. The electrical conductivity increased with increasing dopant concentration, which is at-tributed to the formation of charge transfer complexes. The polymer complexes exhibited Arrhenius type dependence of conductivity with temperature. The total ionic transport number was evaluated by means of Wagner’s polarization technique .Transport number for Sodium ion is ranged from 0.91 to 0.96 depending on the composition. The features of complexation of the electrolytes were studied by X-ray diffraction. A Study on Renewable Energy Sources Using Modular Multilevel Converter in Finding Power Quality
- Thara Singh Amgoth 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V3I6P115
Abstract
Power quality is very important aspect in power system. The harmonics in power systems are produced by various electronic devices. Conventional inverters produce more harmonics and distortions in power system which can be reduced by filters with increase in size and cost. The advances in technologies have led the power capacity of the renewable energy system to grow. It can be a problem to integrate the renewable energy sources to the conventional grid in terms of the stability, voltage regulation and power quality issues. The proposed power converter does not need to employ the large interface inductor at input side and the huge electrolytic capacitor at DC lin. it utilizes high-frequency transformers for the galvanic isolation instead of bulky line-frequency transformers. Compared with the existing multilevel converters, one of the most desirable advantages offered by MMC may be its ability to process both active power and reactive power with its terminals directly connected to high-voltage networks. D-STATCOM (Distribution Static Compensator) is a shunt device which is generally used to solve power quality problems in distribution systems. In this concept in future by increasing the levels of Multilevel Inverter we improve the power quality. - Shivang Sharma, Khushwace Singh, Kamal Kishore 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V3I6P116
Abstract
Conventional bricks made of clay are the basic component used for construction proposes around the world.Waste materials like Fly ash, steel slag and APCD dust have adverse impacts on human health and is a cause of concern. For environmental protection and sustainable development, there is a need to explore the use of such waste materials in manufacturing of fly ash bricks. The present study focussed on the assessment of use of steel slag and/or APCD dust as fillers in fly ash bricks in order to increase strength of bricks and to facilitate the use of steel slag or APCD dust which are considered to be hazardous wastes. The test bricks manufactured from steel slag, APCD dust and fly ash used in different proportions were subjected to tests including water absorption and compressive strength. Results showed significant decrease in water absorption up to 17% and increase in compressive strength up to 12 N/mm2 with 21% of steel slag in fly ash brick. APCD dust was also varied from 5 to 20% but due to its very fine size, it was unable to bond strongly enough with rest of the mixture, resulting in higher water absorption rate of 24.53%. As the fly ash possess good pozzolonic properties similar to cement, studies revealed that steel slag also possess comparable properties with those of natural aggregates and therefore it can be effectively used as filler in fly ash bricks. A Comprehensive Study on Speed Control of DC Motor with Field and Armature Control
- R.Soundara Rajan 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V3I6P117
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to describe the principle of DC motor speed control using armature control methods and field control methods and stopping the DC series motor immediately in case of emergency. For the armature control mode, the field current is held constant and an adjustable voltage is applied to the armature. In the field control mode, the armature voltage is held constant and an adjustable voltage is applied to the field. The speed variation of series motor by armature control method requires that voltage applied to the armature terminals shall be changed, without alternating the field current. In field control method the field is weaken and strengthen according to the requirement. The mathematical model of a separately excited DC motor (SEDM) with independent armature/filed control can be obtained by considering the electrical system, electromagnetic interaction and mechanical system. The main idea behind this paper is to understand how the speed of the Dc series motor can be controlled by armature and field control method. - B T Naik, Prof Muralikrishna 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V3I6P118
Abstract
In a modern day world alternative source of energy are given importance due to gradual depletion of fossil fuels reserves vegetable oils can be used as an alternative to diesel in CI engines. The use of vegetable oils in CI engine results in low CO and HC emissions compared to conventional diesel fuel. The present study covers the various aspects of biodiesels fuel derived from cottonseed oil. Cottonseed oil is converted to cottonseed oil methyl esters by trans etherification process An experimental investigations were carried out on C.I. engine with Bio Diesel blends of cotton seed Methyl Esters and Neem Oil Methyl Esters .The engine used for the experiments was single cylinder Four Stroke water cooled, constant speed diesel engine . Cotton seed Methyl ester (CSOME) and Neem oil methyl ester (NOME) are derived through transterification process and parameters of transterification were optimized. The blends of various proportions of the CSOME & NOME with diesel were prepared, analyzed and compared with diesel fuel, and comparison was made to suggest the better option among the bio diesel. Various Tests have been carried out to examine properties, performance of different blends (C05, C10, C15, and C20) of CSOME and NOME in comparison to diesel. From the experimental Results it is indicated that C20 have closer performance to diesel. However, its diesel blends showed reasonable efficiencies. From the experimental results it is observed that cotton seed methyl ester gives better performance compared to Neem methyl esters and also the emissions and smoke for these diesel blends are less as compare to the pure diesel. - Naseema, DR.S.Nawazish Mehdi, DR.M Manzoor Hussain 10.29126/23951303/IJET-V3I6P119
Abstract
This paper presents a study about the optimization of shell-and-tube heat exchangers. The formulated problem consists of the minimization of the thermal surface area for a certain service, involving discrete decision variables. Heat transfer rate and cost significantly affect designs of shell and tube heat exchangers. From the viewpoint of engineering, an optimum design is obtained via maximum heat transfer rate and minimum cost. Here, an analysis of a shell and tube heat exchanger is carried out, considering nine design parameters: tube arrangement, tube diameter, tube pitch, tube length, number of tubes, fin height, fin thickness, baffle spacing ratio and number of fins per unit length of tube. The Delaware modified technique is used to determine heat transfer coefficients and the shell-side pressure drop. The purpose of this paper is optimization of shell and tube heat exchanger for water heating operation. The obtained results illustrate the capacity of the proposed approach to direct the optimization towards more effective designs, considering important limitations usually ignored in the literature. Abstract
The created Intelligent Management of Electrical Systems has one major benefit: its mobility. It's flexible enough to be incorporated into a wide range of power grids using a wide variety of resources. Both model description and optimization can be carried out separately. In this case, the sole restriction is imposed by the fact that more complex models require more time to calculate. Enhanced process automation has been under constant stress from manufacturing facilities. In recent years, there has been considerable progress in automating the public power distribution system. New sophisticated applications for power distribution networks in industrial plants can be built on the same foundation. The wide variety of conditions and requirements in industry necessitates the introduction of numerous novel applications. Industrial electric system management is described in detail in this study. - Satheesan M. P.. 10.5281/zenodo.7238596/IJET-V3I6P122
Abstract
Competition has a direct impact on the growth of the economy. Manufacturing systems can be improved by a well-thought-out production strategy. Problems with aggregate production planning and sales forecasting are leading an Installation Elevator Company to be unable to deliver items on time and have an impact on customer satisfaction. Studying and comparing forecasting methodologies used by installation businesses, as well as studying aggregate production scheduling in order to analyze and identify the lowest aggregate production costs, were among the goals of this study Aggregate production planning (APP) addresses two critical issues, labor level and inventory utilization, so that the variable needs from downstream processes may be met in a cost-effective manner with the work breakdown structure of all projects and their building strategies. To satisfy the changing needs of aggregate products, aggregate production planning is a planning and control procedure for all production processes. Determine production and inventory levels so that a limited labor and equipment can reduce total production costs on the other side, the goal of maintenance planning is to increase equipment efficiency in order to meet production demands.
