Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
- Adhi Jaganath V
Abstract
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles are designed to serve as aerial robotic vehicles to perform task independently. Computer vision is applied in UAVs to improve their autonomies both in flight control and perception of environment around them. They are generally used to carry out tasks in which manned flight is considered to be risky. This paper focuses on the design and fabrication of UAVs. The various advantages and disadvantages of UAVs have been studied. A Study of the Impact of the North Carolina Aquifer System
- Frank Gronwald
Abstract
North Carolina is a state with a very diverse landscape, from beaches to mountains. It has a large number of aquifers that flow through it. An aquifer is an underground rock formation composed of sand, soil, gravel or porous rock that can store and supply ground water to wells and springs. Generally, an aquifer provides groundwater that can be used for drinking water, irrigation, or industrial purposes. The aquifers in North Carolina are highly varied in their character and water producing capabilities. Several of these aquifers can be traced over large geographic areas and hence form principal aquifers. Other aquifers in the State provide less significant amounts of water and cover smaller areas of the State. Performance Analysis: Stemming Algorithm for the Tamil Language
- Vairaprakash Gurusamy , S.Kannan , K.Nandhini
Abstract
Information retrieval is a process of retrieving the documents to satisfy the user's need for information. The user's information need is represented by a query, the retrieval decision is made by comparing the terms of the query with the terms in the document itself or by estimating the degree of relevance that the document has to the query. Words in a document may have many morphological variants. These morphological variants of words have similar semantic interpretations and can be considered as equivalent for the purpose of IR applications. For this reason, a number of so-called Stemming Algorithms, which reduces the word to its stem or root form have been developed. Thus, the key terms of a query or document are represented by stems rather than by the original words. Stemming reduces the size of the index files and also improves the retrieval effectiveness. A stemming algorithm is a computational procedure which reduces all words with the same root (or, if prefixes are left untouched, the same stem) to a common form, usually by stripping each word of its derivational and inflectional suffixes. This study evaluated the performance analysis of the basic three prefix and suffix removal stemming algorithms in the Tamil language called Light Stemmer, Improved Light Stemmer and Rule Based Iterative Affix stripping Stemmer by Accuracy and strength of the algorithms. Improve Query Caching for Dynamic Content Web Sites
- Vairaprakash Gurusamy , K.Nandhini
Abstract
In this paper, we study how improves performance of query caching for dynamic content web sites. The dynamic web server is composed of a traditional web server attached to an application server. The web servers are typically replicated for load balancing and fault tolerance. The application server performs the necessary computation to determine what data is required from the database. It then queries the database and constructs replies based on the results of the queries. For the purpose of this paper we consider the combination of the web server and the application logic collectively as the front-end and the database as the back-end. We propose and apply a cycle of optimizations for a fully crystal clear dynamic content cache suitable for any web application. We optimize the query cache to handle full and partial coverage of query results at the expense of additional processing. We propose several optimizations that reduce the load on the database leading to higher performance. Simulation of Solar Thermal Cooling System for an Office Building in Indian Climates using Evacuated Tube Collector
- Bachchu Lal Gupta
Abstract
The performances analysis of solar thermal cooling system for an office building using evacuated tube type collector has been analyzed. The simulation was carried out for a typical office building considered to be located in four different cities, representing four climatic zones of India namely Ahmedabad (Hot and dry), Bangalore (Moderate), Chennai (Warm and humid) and Delhi (Composite). Results indicate that the highest solar fraction has been observed as 0.89, 0.94, 0.88, and 0.93 for hot and dry, moderate, warm and humid and composite climate respectively. The primary energy savings are higher for the moderate climate (Bangalore) and lowest for the warm and humid climate (Chennai). Fuzzy Logic Vehicle Parking System
- Harish Koya K E
Abstract
Interest in using intelligent systems in cars is on the rise. One of the problems that drivers face that can be addressed by these high-tech solutions is finding a place to park. The proposed approach employs fuzzy inference for vehicle management and parking in a congested area. The vehicle will follow the prescribed course thanks to two parallel embedded fuzzy controllers. In this study, we introduce a smart, autonomous parking system that can perform a number of tasks. The integrated system is made up of the Fuzzy-Based On board System and the control centre. In contrast to current auto-parking efforts, this FBOS gives the vehicle the ability to recognise slots and park in two distinct parking modes. Error rates can be kept to a minimum by the use of real-time monitoring, which is enabled by the control centre. Energy Management System with Programmable Numbers using GSM
- Babu K. K.
Abstract
The communication will consist of data transfer, for which we will employ a GSM module as wireless communications are used in this project for better and longer distance connection. In this project, we will use an ATmega8 embedded microcontroller to implement this strategy in the house or in the workplace. Appliances such as a refrigerator, light bulb, fan, television, and so on. The project's goal is to create a system that allows users to operate household appliances via SMS and receive acknowledgements. The user does not have to manually turn on and off home appliances. Our technology allows users to control these devices by SMS, and the status of whether the device is turned on or off is provided to the user via a return SMS. Domestic and business customers can use this to operate and monitor home and business appliances from anywhere in the world. This is highly helpful for consumers because it allows them to control their house loads at any time and from any location in the world. One example of how this technology might improve our life is when a person is travelling and wishes that the instant he enters his room, it be cool enough to make him feel comfortable. In such a circumstance, he can use this method to turn on the air conditioning while travelling. SMS messages are sent to the GSM modem, which is linked to the microcontroller. The modem receives the message and delivers the command to the microcontroller, which processes it and activates a mechanism that controls the associated household appliance through a relay. We will describe Energy Management System with Programmable Numbers Using GSM in this paper.
