Performance of a 4- switch, 3-phase inverter fed induction motor (IM) drive system using MATLAB
- A.Madusudhan, Prof. M.Mahendran
Abstract
This project proposes the performance of a 4- switch, 3-phase inverter fed induction motor (IM) drive system for high performance industrial drive systems. In the proposed realization, instead of a usual 6-switch three-phase inverter (SSTPI) a 4-switch three-phase inverter (FSTPI) is used. A cost effective FSTPI fed IM drive using Field-Oriented-Control and Space-Vector PWM controller (with new control SVPWM approach) is implemented as a simulation model. This reduces the cost of the inverter, the switching losses, and the complexity of the control algorithms and interface circuits to generate 6 PWM logic signals. Furthermore, the proposed control approach reduces the computation for real-time implementation. In this paper, a simulation model of the drive system is developed and analyzed in order to verify the effectiveness of the approach. A performance comparison of the proposed IS3P inverter fed drive with a conventional 6S3P inverter fed drive is also mode in terms of speed response and total harmonic distortion (THI)) of the stator current. Simulation results show that the proposed drive system provides a fast speed response and good disturbance rejection capability. The designed inverter fed IM drive is found suitable considering its cost decrease. - R. Prameela Devi , Humaira Nishat
Abstract
The paper discuses about the performance of digital modulation schemes – BPSK, QPSK and QAM using MATLAB. The performance of these schemes is evaluated by finding the bit error rate (BER) on AWGN and Rayleigh channels. Initially a MATLAB code is generated and the performance of these modulation schemes BPSK,QPSK and QAM is evaluated by finding BER and signal to noise ratio over AWGN and Rayleigh fading channels. Later a simulation model is created using Simulink for these modulation schemes and its performance is evaluated on AWGN channel. Keyword: AWGN, BER, BPSK, QPSK, QAM, Rayleigh fading. × R. Analysis and diagnosis of polycoherence based ECG signal for non-linearity detection
- Sayali Gondil , Sheetal Jadhav , Pooja Koshti , A. G. Patil
Abstract
This method gives a new algorithm to detect nonlinearities in ECG signals and to determine the order of non-linearity. The ECG bispectrum is analysed and the bicoherence index is calculated to identify non-linearity. The diagonal slice of the polycoherence index of any order, calculated using the diagonal slice of the polyspectrum of the same order and the power spectrum, is proposed as an estimator. The possibility of higher-order non-linearities in ECG signals is investigated using these slices. Physiological and pathological cases have been studied. The polyspectrum and polycoherence slices indicate the presence of higher-order phase-coupled harmonics, in the physiological cases, which is attributed to higher order non-linearities. Differences between physiological and pathological cases are assessed and a decrease in the non-linearity order could be correlated with pathological conditions. Advanced Honey pot Architecture for Network Threats Quantification
- Karthikeyan R , Dr.T.Geetha , Shyamamol K.S , Sivagami G
Abstract
Today internet security is a serious problem. For every consumer and business that is on the Internet, viruses, worms and crackers are a few security threats. There are the obvious tools that aid information security professionals against these problems such as anti-virus software, firewalls and intrusion detection systems, but these systems can only react to or prevent attacks-they cannot give us information about the attacker, the tools used or even the methods employed. Given all of these security questions honeypots are a novel approach to network security and security research alike. It is a resource, which is intended to be attacked and compromised to gain more information about the attacker and the used tools. It can also be deployed to attract and divert an attacker from their real targets. Honeypots is an additional layer of security. Honeypots have the big advantage that they do not generate false alerts as each observed traffic is suspicious, because no productive components are running on the system. The levels of interaction determines the amount of functionality a honeypots provides that is low and high interactions.. Abstract
Heat transfer in pipes is a distinctive kind of procedure employed in heat exchanger which transfers great deal of heat because of the impact of capillary action and phase change heat transfer principle. Late improvement in the heat pipe incorporates high thermal conductivity liquids like Nano liquids, fixed inside to extricate the most extreme heat. This paper audits, impact of different factors, for example, thermal pipe tilt edge, charged measure of working liquid, nano particles sort, size, and mass/volume part and its impact on the change of thermal proficiency, thermal exchange limit and decrease in thermal protection. The Nano liquid arrangement and the examination of its thermal attributes likewise have been investigated. The retained sun oriented vitality is exchanged to the working liquid streaming in the pipe. The execution of the framework is affected by thermal exchange from tube to working liquid, with least convective misfortunes, which must be considered as one of the essential plan factor. In tube and channel streams, to improve the rate of heat exchange to the working liquid, detached enlargement methods, for example, contorted tapes and swirl generators are employed from the fluid flow path. The variation of heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop in the pipe flow for water and water based Al2O3 Nano fluids at different volume concentrations and twisted tapes are studied. - Revathi Durgam, Vijendar Amgothu
Abstract
Cloud computing is the one of the emerging techniques to process the big data. Large collection of set or large volume of data is known as big data. Processing of big data (MRI images and DICOM images) normally takes more time compare with other data. The main tasks such as handling big data can be solved by using the concepts of hadoop. Enhancing the hadoop concept it will help the user to process the large set of images or data. The Advanced Hadoop Distributed File System (AHDF) and MapReduce are the two default main functions which are used to enhance hadoop. HDF method is a hadoop file storing system, which is used for storing and retrieving the data. MapReduce is the combinations of two functions namely maps and reduce. Map is the process of splitting the inputs and reduce is the process of integrating the output of map’s input. Recently, in medical fields the experienced problems like machine failure and fault tolerance while processing the result for the scanned data. A unique optimized time scheduling algorithm, called Advanced Dynamic Handover Reduce Function (ADHRF) algorithm is introduced in the reduce function. Enhancement of hadoop and cloud introduction of ADHRF helps to overcome the processing risks, to get optimized result with less waiting time and reduction in error percentage of the output image. - Austin Antony
Abstract
In this day and age, there is an increasing need to create artificial arms for various inhuman situations where human communication is difficult or impossible. They could range from taking readings from a gushing lava spring to defusing a bomb. In this paper, we propose to build a mechanical arm that is constrained by typical human arm developments and whose information is obtained using accelerometers. Legitimate averaging calculation is used for smoothing the output of the accelerometer for appropriate control instrument and to lessen the amount of commotion rolling in from the sensors. This arm's advancement is dependent on Arduino ATmega328, which will all be interfaced with one another using sequential correspondence. This robot's development is based on the Arduino Mega platform, which will be interfaced with the wireless controller to the mobile robotic arm. The robot's performance has been evaluated using metrics such as speed, distance, and load capacity. Finally, this robot prototype is expected to solve problems such as placing or picking objects that are far away from the user, as well as picking and placing hazardous objects in the quickest and easiest way possible. Building Management System Integration with HVAC
-Abdul Salam. P. K
Abstract Reduced energy use is currently the quickest option to minimise the usage of fossil fuels and, thus, greenhouse gas emissions. HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems are utilised to keep an indoor environment comfortable for its occupants. Combining these two elements, energy economy and comfort, presents a significant problem for building operations. This study provides a design method to controlling an HVAC, with the goal of reducing energy consumption in the functioning of a building's HVAC system. The system was created with a Raspberry Pi acting as a coordinator node and wireless connections to sensor nodes for environmental variables and electrical measurement nodes. The coordinator node sends the data it receives to the cloud for storage and further processing. Using an X Bee-based solid state relay, the control system handles the HVAC equipment's set point as well as the turning on and off of the HVAC compressor. The HVAC temperature management system is based on a computation of the Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) index, which is used by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) to determine the appropriate set point to meet the thermal comfort of 80% of users. To identify comfort zones, this method integrates humidity and temperature values. The compressor control decisions are made by the coordinator node based on the PMV index value. as running with the same setpoint of 26.5 degrees Celsius, the proposed PMV-based temperature management system for HVAC equipment provides energy savings ranging from 33% to 44% as compared to the built-in control of the HVAC equipment.
