Steel-plant Refractory: A Review
- Dashrath Singh Kathait
Abstract
In the steel industry, competitive pressures such as worldwide demand, high cost of energy, environmental and safety regulations, competing materials, customer demand for high quality, and the high cost of capital have led to a need for changes across the industry. Refractories for all unit processes are selected on the basis of their longevity and the cleanliness of the steel. The various types of refractories influence the safe operation, energy consumption and product quality; therefore, selecting refractories to each application is of great importance. This study discusses the types, characteristics and properties of various refractories suitable for steel plant ladle. Hybrid Watermarking Technique Based on DWT-SVD-FRFT
- Damanbir Singh, Guneet Kaur
|
Abstract
Digital watermarking has been proposed as a solution to the problem of copyright protection of multimedia documents in networked environments. There are two important issues that watermarking algorithms need to address. First, watermarking schemes are required to provide trustworthy evidence for protecting rightful ownership. Second, good watermarking schemes should satisfy the requirement of robustness and resist distortions due to common image manipulations (such as filtering, compression, etc.). In this paper, a watermarking algorithm is proposed based on the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), Fractional Fourier Transform (FrFT) and Singular value decomposition (SVD). Analysis and experimental results show that the proposed watermarking method performs well in both security and robustness.. Modeling and Analysis of Machining Characteristics of Metal Matrix Composite in Milling Process
- N.Keerthi , N.Deepthi ,N.Jaya Krishna |
Abstract In the area of globalization manufacturers are facing the challenges of higher Quality and productivity are two important . Productivity can be interpreted in terms of material removal rate in the machining operation and quality represents satisfactory yield in terms of product characteristics as desired by the customers. but conflicting criteria in any machining operations. In order to ensure high productivity, extent of quality is to be compromised. It is, therefore, essential to optimize quality and productivity simultaneously. Dimensional accuracy, form stability, surface smoothness, fulfillment of functional requirements in prescribed area of application etc. are important quality attributes of the product. Increase in productivity results in reduction in machining time which may result in quality loss. On the contrary, an improvement in quality results in increasing machining time thereby, reducing productivity. Therefore, there is a need to optimize quality as well as productivity. Optimizing a single response may yield positively in some aspects but it may affect adversely in other aspects. The problem can be overcome if multiple objectives are optimized simultaneously. It is, therefore, required to maximize material removal rate (MRR), and to improve product quality simultaneously by selecting an appropriate (optimal) process environment. To this end, the present work deals with multi-objective optimization philosophy based on Taguchi-Grey relational analysis method applied in CNC end milling operation. Design of WECS using HSA with fuzzy controller
- Anju.S, Achu Govind K R |
Abstract Wind turbines form complex nonlinear mechanical systems exposed to uncontrolled wind profiles. This makes turbine controller design a challenging task. As such, control of wind energy conversion systems (WECS) is difficult due to the lack of systematic methods to identify requisite robust and sufficiently stable conditions, to guarantee performance. The problem becomes more complex when plant parameters become uncertain. This paper considers the wind energy curtailment for which it provides a combinatorial planning model to maximize wind power utilization. The major objective of this study is to develop an effective method for optimizing size of wind. A novel multi-objective adaptation of the fuzzy based Harmony Search algorithm is proposed and tested for efficiently solving the problem of optimally deploying wind turbines in wind farms. In this paper, Harmony Search Algorithm (HSA) using fuzzy controller to achieve better optimization results and to increase performance. A general formulation of this algorithm is presented together with an analytical and mathematical modeling to solve the stability and performance of the system. Commodity Juxtaposing from Tweets using Sentiment Analysis
- Praveen Jayasankar , Prashanth Jayaraman ,Rachel Hannah |
Abstract Sentiment Analysis is the process of finding the sentiments from different classes of words. Generally speaking, sentiment analysis aims to determine the attitude of a speaker or a writer with respect to some topic or the overall contextual polarity of a document. The attitude may be his or her judgment or evaluation, affective state, or the intended emotional communication. In this case, tweets! Given a micro-blogging platform where official, verified tweets are available to us, we need to identify the sentiments of those tweets. A model must be constructed where the sentiments are scored, for each product individually and then they are compared with, diagrammatically, portraying users feedback from the producers stand point. There are many websites that offer a comparison between various products or services based on certain features of the article such as its predominant traits, price, and its welcome in the market and so on. However not many provide a juxtaposing of commodities with user review as the focal point. Those few that do work with Nave Bayes Machine Learning Algorithms, that poses a disadvantage as it mandatorily assumes that the features, in our project, words, are independent of each other. This is a comparatively inefficient method of performing Sentiment Analysis on bulk text, for official purposes, since sentences will not give the meaning they are supposed to convey, if each word is considered a separate entity. Maximum Entropy Classifier overcomes this draw back by limiting the assumptions it makes of the input data feed, which is what we use in the proposed system. . - Swetha.T.N, S.Bhargavi, Sreerama Reddy G.M, Gangadhar.V |
Abstract The chaos based cryptographic algorithms have suggested some new and efficient ways to develop secure image encryption techniques. In this paper an algorithm for encryption & decryption of digital image using chaotic logistic map and Arnold cat map is discussed. The algorithm utilizes the good features of chaotic sequence related to cryptographic properties, such as pseudo-random, sensitivity to initial conditions and aperiodicity. The algorithm use logistic mapping to confusion the location of pixels in a digital image & Arnold cat map parameters are to be considered as secret keys for securing an image. Due to change of any secret keys the system produces undesired results at the receiver side. Finally experimental results along with statistical analysis including histogram analysis and correlation property show that presented algorithm has good desirable cryptography properties and is more secure technique against the unauthorized person. An Innovative Approach to Integrated Optimization Productivity Improvement Through CIM
- Praveen.T, Dr.B.Kumar |
Abstract This paper emphasizes the many role of computer Integrated manufacturing (CIM) to the economic system. Ranges of topics are lined during this paper: CIM definition, history, necessities in post WTO state of affairs, organization, and application. Today’s business competes during a really international marketplace. economical transportation networks have created a “world market” during which we tend to participate on a each day. For any industrial country to contend during this market, it should have firms that give economic high-quality products to their customers during a timely manner. The importance of group action product style and method style to attain a style for production system can't be overemphasized. However, even once a style is finalized, producing industries should be willing to accommodate their customers by permitting unpunctual engineering -design changes while not touching shipping schedules or sterilization product quality. Therefore, Most U.S.-based producing firms look toward CAD/CAM and CIM to produce this flexibility in their producing system. The Republic of India business would have to be compelled to modification from a standard producing vogue to computer integrated manufacturing style so as to deal with the post World Trade Organization necessities. The paper discusses productivity improvement by using computer integrated producing in Republic of India.
